Phil is quite difficult to work with but you get what you pay for. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the work but it could have been done with a bit more due care. He's not particularly good at communication and didn't discuss anything that he was doing and I had to go out into the garden to see what they were doing. He called me 'over the top'. They said that I was being difficult. If you don't like difficult contractors, I would definitely avoid Phil. I felt a bit like a number and not like a client. You get what Phil gives you. They were gone by 1pm so its wasn't fantastic service.
Response from Holmes Landscapes
We had worked for the customer before on one of his other properties with no problems
However on this occasion while on site he said that he might want a slight design change to the fence we were building and suggested we came back the next day so he could think about it . I pointed out that doing that would cost us a days work and needed a decision that day, which in the end we got.
The next day we started a patio for him .However after watching us bring all the paving, that had been picked and agreed on , round the back and stack in his garden ready to lay, he decided that he did not now like the paving .I felt that he was being unreasonable for the sake of it and told him so .We talked it through and l thought that we sorted things out with the job being finished and the customer saying he was happy with the outcome .
Obviouly not as months later he posted the above review .
