Garden Heavy Duty Close Board Panel fencing

    Posted 17 April

Phil from Holmes Landscaping was great. He did both sides of our garden fence, was really reliable and very communicative. He was also very tidy and mindful of our plants! Phil had previously done the fences of both my Nan and my brother, and they also had excellent feedback. Highly recommend.

Concrete spurs in fence, fence panels and hedging.

    Posted 11 April

I was so delighted with the decking and pergola Phil constructed in my garden that I didn’t hesitate to ask him to concrete a section at the bottom of my garden and install a couple of spurs in the fence. Phil also replaced two fence panels for my in-laws and planted a laurel hedge for my daughter. Phil and his team are incredibly hardworking, highly professional, and ensure that their work is carried out to a high standard.

    Fencing repairs and gate replacement

    Posted 14 March

Holmes Landscapes are extremely professional and reliable. Visit to quote fitted in to work around my availability. Competitive quote and no attempt to sell me more than I needed--could have pushed me to replace everything, but quoted for repairs. Job booked in quickly on date to suit me. Arrived exactly when they said they would and worked flat out until the job was completed. I can and do recommend Phil and his colleagues for all fencing work.

Go with Phil if you want to spruce up your garden that will look good from a distance.

Phil is quite difficult to work with but you get what you pay for. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the work but it could have been done with a bit more due care. He's not particularly good at communication and didn't discuss anything that he was doing and I had to go out into the garden to see what they were doing. He called me 'over the top'. They said that I was being difficult. If you don't like difficult contractors, I would definitely avoid Phil. I felt a bit like a number and not like a client. You get what Phil gives you. They were gone by 1pm so its wasn't fantastic service.

    Response from Holmes Landscapes

We had worked for the customer before on one of his other properties with no problems However on this occasion while on site he said that he might want a slight design change to the fence we were building and suggested we came back the next day so he could think about it . I pointed out that doing that would cost us a days work and needed a decision that day, which in the end we got. The next day we started a patio for him .However after watching us bring all the paving, that had been picked and agreed on , round the back and stack in his garden ready to lay, he decided that he did not now like the paving .I felt that he was being unreasonable for the sake of it and told him so .We talked it through and l thought that we sorted things out with the job being finished and the customer saying he was happy with the outcome . Obviouly not as months later he posted the above review .
