Was quoted £150 to have tap replaced ‘without his parts’ and £100 ‘with his parts’.
Denis asked if I had a replacement tap to which I said no and he said he’d buy one on the way. At no point was a higher price specified - I assumed this was baked into the extra £50. When work was done he wanted £235 - begrudgingly I paid so he would leave.
Denis was nice enough and the tap was replaced to a good standard but I was mislead on price - beware future users.
It won’t let me upload photos of the conversation for people to make their own conclusion
Response from Hancor H Limited
Dear Gavin,
Thank you for your feedback and for acknowledging that the work was completed to a good standard. I sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding regarding the final invoice and any frustration it caused.
I would like to clarify the pricing that was discussed. The £150 figure was the estimated cost to replace a tap (labour job cost only) with out parts. The £100 quote was specifically for a repair service, which would have included any small necessary parts.
I recognise that the cost of the parts should have been communicated more clearly before the work began, and for this lapse in communication, we offer our sincere apologies.
We value all feedback and are using this experience to improve our service. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Best regards,
Hancor H Limited
