Jaz contacted me promptly and was able to attend the next day. He asked me to pay a £50 call out fee in advance. When he arrived, he refused to fix the problem because the machine is top loading. I hadn’t specified but he also hadn’t asked. The error code is the same on all types of machine and just needed the filter to be emptied, which is in the same place as a front loading machine. I could have done it easily myself but I don’t live locally (I’m the landlord). It didn’t need specialist knowledge. Very disappointed that he took my money and refused to attempt a simple fix.
Response from Godiva Appliance Repairs
Thank you for your feedback, Chris. I’m sorry to hear you were disappointed.
When booking the job, you did not specify that the washing machine was a top-loading model. As mentioned in my messages, around 99.5% of machines I attend are front loaders, and unfortunately, I don’t carry the tools or parts required for top-loading machines. Once I arrived and discovered it was a top loader, I explained this and why I could not proceed without risking damage.
The £50 call-out fee covers my time, travel, and assessment, which was clearly agreed in advance and is standard practice in this industry.
