I hired James to replace a roof. The experience has been a homeowner's nightmare. On the first day he tried increase the quote, saying that he'd forgotten to include items. He pushed several times for early payments, claiming that his car had broken down and that he'd not be able to work unless I paid. Foolishly I did so. Shortly afterwards, the Building Inspector failed the rooof install on seven basic counts. He then ignored emails, calls, texts over the next two months, so I hired another roofer to make good (£10k), and James failed to make good on agreed recompense (5 months in).

Started with a guttering repair and ended up with internal carpentry, painting and decorating, internal jobs and another roof repair. Work was of a high standard, worked cleanly and efficiently and was very valuable to me as I had so many jobs that I needed doing.

The experience was, as I expected, perfectly satisfactory. There was some hiccups over time of attendance, but as the job was not time critical, I was prepared to put up with that.

We had a leak in our 100 year old slate roof, James visited to assess the job and straight away thought he new where the problem was. Returned within a week and fixed it. He could see there were a few other small things that needed doing - slipped slates and ridge tiles that needed repointing - has now returned and sorted for us. Also fitted caps to our chimney pots. James is very knowledgeable and I have no hesitation in recommending GD Property Services.

James came to look at the work within a couple of days of me posting the job. I had a quote later that day. The work has now been carried out and end result is brilliant. The 14ft X 8ft shed was put up about 10 years ago and the roof was leaking and sagging in the middle. Built small frame inside the shed which raised the roof and re-felted.
