I called on Tony because of his wide range of services. I needed him to sweep our chimney, attach a new chimney cowl and service our gas fire which was not working. Tony was excellent. He was friendly, honest and up front on what it would cost. He showed up at our arranged time and did great work. He found the fault on our gas fire and got it working again. He works very clean and didn't leave a mess. Tony is very knowledgeable and informative on all aspects of his work. Could not ask for a better service. Job location: CH49Fantastic job, flue was cleaned with no mess, checked with camera and smoke bombs etc. Tony was very friendly, efficient and did an excellent job. One company had said it couldn't be done but that was proved wrong by 'Flue Check'. It was very reasonably priced and the job gave us peace of mind. Would definitely recommend this company to others.10 Chimney cleaned and identified problem with smoke being drawn down neighbours chimney.

We wish all contractors were as enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable about their trade. Tony helped to explain a problem we have had were smoke is being drawn down the neighbours chimney. While sweeping the two wood burner liners, he gave us a lesson in air pressure, ventilation and how this was causing the neighbours chimney to draw smoke. The work was clean and quick but Tony was clearly in no rush to get paid and out the door. We will definitely recommend him in the future and be using his services for all future chimney cleans and repairs. You will notice that I sometimes score less than 10 for time keeping, this is generally because I do not rush any customer jobs or sacrifice quality over quantity! Each customer gets my full attention and each job is different so sometimes things take a bit longer than expected. I try to give my customers a morning or afternoon appointment which gives me a bit of flexibility however trying to achieve exact times is virtually impossible. In the unlikely event that I am delayed to a point that I will not make an appointment due to logistical or mechanical issues I will always text you if I am going to be delayed after the time agreed.

Flue Check is owned by Tony Preston (established in 1983). I decided to run my own business after serving a building trades apprenticeship. I have extensive construction and building services related experience and have worked on literally hundreds of projects since beginning my business in 1983. I am fully qualified with Advanced Craft City and Guilds and a Higher National Certificate in Building Studies. For the past 20 years or so I have been concentrating on providing Heating services which has led me to become qualified with both Gas Safe and Hetas.
Certificates issued to customers
On completion of a chimney sweep you will be issued with an insurance approved sweeping certificate which proves that the maintenance has been carried out by an approved sweep. On completion of any installation work you will be issued with the relevant HETAS or GAS SAFE Certification.
