    Beautiful floor refurbishment

    Colin did an excellent job refinishing our floors - he talked us through the whole process, fitted all the cracks with matching wood and also broke up the concrete from the old hearth and replaced it with probably aged boards. The result is fantastic - we’re so pleased with the result and the work. He was also very considerate in our home, cleaned up at the end of each day and kept us up to date as the work was carried out.

    Engineered Wood Parquet Floor Installation

    Colin was absolutely fantastic to deal with, he was kind, courteous and worked hard until the job was done. I’m a pretty particular person but Colin listened and did everything that was asked (including checking each individual board!) Furthermore once the floor had settled a door started dragging slightly on the floor and he came back around and sorted it out for me. Would highly recommend him, thank you Colin!

    Colin sanded and revarnished our parquet flooring

    Colin sanded and revarnished the parquet flooring in the downstairs of our house in SE London. He did a great job - the flooring looks brand new - gave us solid advice on how to keep it looking good, and was great with his communication and quoted competitively. The work took three days for the three spaces and giving the three coats of varnish time to dry. We went with him because of the great reviews, and I am happy to say he lived up to expectations. Very happy to recommend.

The Floorworks of London is a small reputable company based in Crystal Palace.

The owner Colin Williamson started out his career qualifying as a carpenter and joiner before embarking on a career in wooden floor restoration and installation, he now has over 30 years’ experience of laying and renovating all types of wooden floors in various settings, from domestic home improvement projects, to renovating floors in night clubs, sports halls, period properties and restaurants etc.

We offer a professional service that prides itself on offering a high standard at a reasonable cost without compromising on attention to detail and using high quality materials and the latest machinery to achieve a beautiful durable floor


Wooden Floor Renovation

  • Uplifting of carpets/coverings and disposal of.
  • Repairs to loose boards including the sourcing of reclaimed timber floorboards.
  • Removing the hearth and replacing with period floorboards to achieve a near finish.
  • Gap filling by sawdust and resin or if greater than 3mm gap we recommend using wooden slivers which are cut from period floorboards(has excellent draught proofing properties and is aesthetically pleasing).
  • Sanding of all floors to a 120 finish.
  • Staining using an array of shades including Oak, Walnut, Teak, Chestnut, White & Grey etc
  • Varnishing x3 generous coats using Junkers strong or Bona traffic.
  • Osmo original hard wax oil x2 coats.

  • Survey the sub floor
  • Pre-finished/Unfinished engineered boards,
  • Pre-finished/Unfinished Parquet blocks.
  • Reclaimed Parquet blocks.
  • Various types of pine floorboards.
  • Pre-finished/Unfinished solid planks.
