Alex came this afternoon to clear my fire and chimney,as soon as he saw the fire he new straight away what the trouble was because he knows this type of fire back to front, He did an excellent job of cleaning my flu and fire and also explained to me how the the fire clogged up, it was I wasn’t using the air vents as they should be used, And he went through the process of using these vents properley as it was not explained to me when the fire was fitted last year, I would recommend Alex of Fire & Ash to everybody he is a first class chimney sweep.

Alex has swept the chimney for us since 2021, always prompt, polite and super clean in protecting the house from probably the dirtiest job that you can have done. More recently, we took advice from Alex on which log burner to install when we moved into a house with an awful gas fire. Alex’s advice was excellent, further on - we’ve had Alex install a Clock Blithfield 5 burner (it’s amazing!). The attention to detail on the install of the burner, new tiled hearth and our new surround was second to none. Alex priced the work competitively and delivered an amazing job.

I had Alex out today to sweep my chimney at a really reasonable price, he did a fab job and made sure my house was completely clean and free of any soot at the end. I will be planning to have a wood burning stove fitted by Alex soon to replace my open fire. He is so knowledgeable, friendly and you really just trust him, he’s not out here to rip anyone off and gives you so many options based on your circumstances. Really lovely to find someone so genuine, it is rare these days! Can’t wait to have my stove installed.
