    Darren and his team recently carried out damp proofing and plastering work at my property in Hastings, and I’m very pleased with the results. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and it’s clear they take real pride in what they do. Communication was great throughout the whole process—they kept me informed at every stage and were always happy to answer any questions. The team were courteous, professional, and made sure everything was left clean and tidy each day. I would definitely recommend Darren and his team to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work.

    Damp proofing in the kitchen

    Darren and his team have been amazing over the last few weeks. They have sorted out the damp proofing in my kitchen and also fixed floors, brickwork, radiators and outside drains at the same time! They are punctual, organised and incredibly positive about everything - I can’t thank them enough for all their help. Highly recommended :)

    Great standard of work, great guys

    Darren and Anthony have recently undertaken a significant amount of replastering in our new home. The standard of their work has been first class, everything is well thought through, and they pride themselves on their quality of finish. In addition, they have been consistently polite and respectful, and have been a pleasure to have in our home. Darren kept us well informed from the first time he visited to provide a quote, to when the work was finally completed. He was happy to do little extra bits and provided some great advice about when to decorate and how to achieve a great finish.

    Damp proofing of hallway

    Prior to completing the work, Darren came out to assess the area in need of treating and explained to me the work he would do to resolve the damp issue in the hallway. From then on, communication with Darren was very clear and prompt, and the work undertaken by him and his colleague, Anthony, was completed in a timely manner and to a high standard. Both were very polite and considerate, and they left the work area clean and tidy at the end of each day. I would use this company again should I ever have need of their services in future.

DFT Damp Proofing & Plastering was founded by myself, Darren Tingey, in 1997 after completing my time with one of London’s largest plastering companies. I worked across London and the South East, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of plastering projects.


Following this, I spent four years with a major London-based damp proofing company, where I deepened my knowledge of rising damp and waterproofing systems. I then worked alongside a highly respected local builder for five more years, learning the interior and exterior aspects of the building trade through his 30 years of experience.


Today, I bring over 39 years of experience in all areas of plastering, rendering, damp proofing, rising damp treatment, tanking, and general building works. I work closely with my long-time colleague Anthony, and together we’ve built a company known for being honest, reliable, and highly skilled.


We also collaborate with trusted professional trades when required. We pride ourselves on clear communication, and we are always clean, respectful, and tidy when working in our clients’ homes. Our goal is to consistently deliver the highest standard of workmanship.
