I recently had a gas fire installed Dennis and team and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of work. Dennis arrived on time, explained each step clearly, and made sure everything was completed safely and to a high standard. The finish is excellent, the fire works perfectly, and the whole process felt smooth and well‑managed. Dennis and Paul came to sort out a log burner which had been installed unsafely by a different company. The work was carried out with cleanliness, professionalism, on time and we were left with the confidence that our stove would now work correctly and safely. We have no hesitation in recommending D. Cousins.

We wanted a wood burning stove for ecological and comfort reasons. Dennis of DC Fires visited and explained the constraints and what needed doing. After listening to what we wanted (a modern looking, A+ rated wood-only stove) he recommended a Hunter 4 Compact Eco (4.5kw) stove. A LOT of poorly laid masonry had to be removed to create a HETAS compliant fireplace/ flue arrangement. I could not be more pleased with the result: 20.4C. indoors, -5C. outside. Very price competitive but Dennis (and Paul) come with YEARS of experience and expertise. The stove lights very quickly and heats fast.

We had a flue liner & original Edwardian gas fire installed and 2 chimney breasts in our living and dining room renovated. Dennis' extensive experience and knowledge stood out from all professionals I contacted for this job. He explained everything in detail for a project that had its challenges. Dennis and Paul worked tirelessly over 3 days to the highest standard, they arrived on time, were very polite and impeccable in terms of tidiness, especially given the soot that came out! I highly recommend Dennis and his team and will employ him again to install a fireplace in our bedroom.

The team installed a stove into an old 1930's fireplace. The chimney had been removed from the roof many years ago but they cleverly used the part that remained inside of the roof and added a flue to this, as well as lining the existing chimney in the proper way. All was done exactly as they had stated it would be, was also done with a smile and complete tidiness. Really impressive! I'd recommend them unreservedly. It was a pleasure to have Dennis and colleagues work on our fireplace from start to finish. An initial visit was to check that the stove would fit. The main work was done a few days later and included installing a new chimney liner, using a cherry-picker. Despite some obstacles and hiccups, Dennis and crew were cheerful + kept me well-informed throughout. The cleanliness of my lounge afterwards was amazing, considering what came down the chimney! The aftercare was also excellent. I will be using this company to service the stove and chimney regularly.
