From the beginning the work started, the progress was very slow due to Dan working on other jobs and his team being small and incompetent. When the steels were installed, the main load bearing wall was incorrectly supported with 7 acro props one which was bent like a banana, large cracks throughout the back of the house appeared, ceilings falling down, windows wonky , doors not shutting. The building inspectors and structural engineer confirmed that the damage was caused due to the steels being incorrectly installed. Dan Costin refused to admit that this damage was caused by him.
Response from Dan Costin Brickwork And building Contractors
At the beginning there was an issue with Structural drawings received, the job was then held up by slow response and direction from the engineer, this had an effect on the progress of the job which left the house temporarily supported for a long amount of time. The steels were put in place under his instruction rather than being redesigned, in order to comply with architectural drawings, this caused huge delays with the Structural stages of the works, in which incurred movement resulted in minor damage due to movement. I continued with the project so the Building was structurally sound the roof was on and doors installed, Unfortunately the customers took a poor attitude and became aggressive and abusive on a daily basis making it very difficult and stressful, we soon mutually agreed in a meeting due to their ignorance and attitude, that they will find another building company to finish up the internal works, unfortunately the job did not go to plan and had several delays and the customer unfortunately was very difficult to deal with.
