10 Wall tie replacement, bar insertion and repointing
Posted 18 March
Once again I have been really impressed by Dave’s diligence, care, skill and attention to detail. He has done several smaller projects for me before repairing a side wall. I had no hesitation employing his services again, this time on a much larger project on the weather worn wall above a conservatory roof. He has kept me informed of progress, always arrived on time and worked extremely tidily. I will happily seek his advice and skills for further projects on my aging 1920s brick house.Verified reviewerJob location: SO1610 Airbricks and Helifix bars

We had some queries from a surveyor regarding airbricks and Helifix bars on our 1930s house. We contacted Dave for advice as he had fitted our Helifix bars back in 2016 and built a porch and repainted the house in 2018. Dave came round very quickly on a weekend to help us. He checked all the potential concerns and gave really helpful advice and reassuring information. This allowed us to answer the survey questions with confidence and the opinion of an expert. We would 100% recommend Dave for any building and brickwork jobs there is literally nothing he doesn't know about bricks!Verified reviewerJob location: SO5110 Remove a door and brick up the aperture. Dave removed an unused outside door and bricked up the aperture. He has matched the existing bricks perfectly ensuring a seamless wall. We have been experiencing a damp problem on one wall of this old property. Dave found the problem to be debris bridging the cavity in several areas causing wet spots. He removed bricks along the length of wall and removed a surprising amount of aged lime mortar and brick debris. New air bricks have been fitted ensuring a strong airflow driving out any future damp problem. He has completed a first class job to a very high standard.Verified reviewerJob location: SO5310 Repointing, helical bar fitting, laying slabs

We were very happy with the work Dave did on our house and garden. It's obvious that Dave cares about the quality of his work. He was reliable, informative and tidy (even washing the windows!). We also appreciated all the little extra jobs Dave did for free (e.g. removing old fixings, securing the guttering) in order to deliver a high standard of work. We would not hesitate to employ Dave again or to recommend him.Verified reviewerJob location: SO5210 Repairing boundary garden wall.

Dave was very quick to respond to my request for a quote and I had confidence in him the first time he did a site visit. He did a further site visit in response to some questions I asked and proceeded with the work shortly after. He has done a great job of the wall, removed a redundant washing pole and provided advice on how to maintain the integrity of the wall for the future. He was friendly, professional and communicated well with me throughout. I would happily recommend him for brickwork and would contact him again for any future work.Verified reviewerJob location: SO1510 Repointing & Helical Bar Reinforcement (6 days)

We cannot speak any more highly of Dave and Colin and will be using again for the chimney repointing. Absolutely perfect in every way. Very punctual, arriving at 8:29 every morning and always left the area very tidy and clean, which given the dusty nature of the job is amazing. I would say Dave is very thoughtful and took great efforts to plan his works, especially in taking time to get the colour matching just right. Really pleased with the workmanship, don’t think we could have found anyone better for this project. Dave even did a few extras at no extra cost which is refreshing. Thank you.Verified reviewerJob location: SO51
