I have just had Clarkes lay wooden flooring. All I can say they have been brilliant from start to finish. From ordering in shop they give great advice and care. The fitter jay was absolutely brilliant, did a marvellous job. I love the floor. Don’t think you could beat them. Well done Clarkes

We went into Clarkes carpet and had to physically ask for assistance even though we were the only customers and then agreed with the instore quotation. The on site location came in 25% dearer as they said the person had presumable forgotten the cost of the pre floor materials which is strange as he mentioned it over half a dozen times. Miscommunication over the fitting date where I was told I would never have been told a date before stock was in and miscommunication on fitting time as I was told I would never have been told 9:30 as they always tell the customers between 9 and 11.

Happy with all aspects from picking in store and fitting

I’ve always used Clarkes over the last few years, for my house, most recently, the Amtico flooring to my entire ground floor, and also stair and landing carpet. I have to say their service is always impeccable, from the ladies on the phones, the sales staff, right through to the carpet and flooring fitting…..nothing is too much trouble, and the choice of carpets and flooring is endless!! The jobs are always done to a high standard…and the fitters are always clean and tidy. I still have bedrooms to do, and won’t hesitate to use them again! Thanks to the fitters, David, and Mark and Dave.

The finished result is good. But the lack of customer care made the experience upsetting. By turning up very early on the day, the fitters cost me 300 pounds worth of income (I work online as freelancer in exam conditions, and they totally ignored the situation, creating unbearable noise and spoiling my session). Despite admitting doing wrong, Clarkes would not take responsibility or show any sign of care. I thought about taking them to the small claims court, but decided against it, best leave it behind and take my custom elsewhere.

The fitting of my living room carpet was the first time I have been really disappointed with this companies services. Fitters were not interested in a good job, just a quick one. There was a shocking lack of attention to detail. Money was main motivation. The company was aware of the issues but did not follow up on these. Returned on 5 April to remedy the problems but didn't correct as was discussed with the shop manager. They fitted the stair carpet on second visit - but very poor and carpet on last stair is completely slanted. This was apparently the best of their fitters.
