Whilst their initial service was great and matched the reviews, shortly after installation the click LVT floor began creaking. I raised concerns about the subfloor and installation, but felt these were repeatedly dismissed in favour of "25+ years of experience". Three months later, an independent flooring inspector concluded that the floor had not been installed in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Disappointingly, City Carpets continued to dispute those findings. We ultimately agreed to write off the outstanding balance, but based on my experience, I would not recommend them.
Response from City Carpets & Flooring
Hi Becky. We’re sorry you feel this way. We rearranged work to complete your whole house within your 7-day deadline and heavily discounted the carpet. Although we disagreed with the inspector’s conclusion, we offered to replace the LVT and additional subfloor preparation at no cost. After this was agreed, you requested a further £1,000+ for inconvenience/cattery costs. Unable to agree, we wrote off the £2,000+ balance. The 3-month inspection delay was the manufacturer’s, not ours. We responded promptly throughout.
