Didn't turn up for appointment and no communication

I had a cracked waste pipe that needed urgent repair because water was dripping onto my downstairs neighbor's wall. Charlie came on Saturday morning to ensure we could fix it quickly. He arrived on time, was very professional, and did a perfect job. He clearly explained what the issue was and how he fixed it. He also let me use his dehumidifier to dry my neighbor's wall. I will definitely use Charlie for any future plumbing work and highly recommend him.

Charlie agreed to look at problem. He came late, and told us we would need to replace water pump or water tank system. Didn't do any real investigation to understand the cause of the problem - it felt like he was just trying to upsell us. Was here 20 minutes, and said he would send quotes for pump and water tank replacement. He then invoiced us for a £108 call out charge. I would have gone elsewhere, but no mention of call out fee prior to visit, or on his Checkatrade profile. I have paid half (£54) which I think is more than fair considering the poor comms and lack of investigation.

Excellent communication ,available to do the job very quickly and arrived as arranged. Charlie is a very pleasant guy who works quickly and efficiently and tidies up at the end of the job. Would definitely employ him again.

Although a small job I’m delighted. Communication was superb and the quality of the work was equally good. Highly recommended.
