    Alcove units and shelving

    Carsten built two beautiful bespoke alcove units for us, which have really enhanced our lounge. The finish was excellent with nice attention to detail like neat holes for wires and lovely trim. Carsten works very hard and quite long days to get the job done as quickly as possible. Can’t wait to paint them!

I have been an established carpenter and cabinet maker since 2002 working in and around East Sussex. Most of my bespoke carpentry work involves solving storage problems. For example, creating shelves and cupboards in alcoves, work areas on landings and generally making the most of what you have got. Where possible I like to work with reclaimed materials, examples are making drawers and cupboards out of old floorboards, tables made out of reclaimed old pine doors and carved mahogany legs.


Large projects have included; designing and fitting benches, counters for shops, display units for shops and Cafes. The foyer at Knepp rewilding kitchen at Knepp Estate, walk-in wardrobe, full library rooms, boot rooms and bespoke country style kitchens. For the past 12 years I have also been making garden structures, shepherd huts and summer houses.
