We had a major issue with part of our house being incredibly cold with a draught. Having known Julian for a while from networking, I contacted him and asked him to come and have a look. Julian arrived, promptly as ever, and carried out a detailed survey using various gadgets and gizmos. He showed us that the problem was mainly the small roof at the front of the house. The builders had not added any insulation when they built it, hence the cold. He found a difference of 6 degrees in that part of the room. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Julian for anything building related.

A damp issue in the bedroom needed investigating to find out if it water was getting in or not getting out. Julian's investigation was thorough and well documented providing both an explanation of the problem and guidance on remediation.

Used Julian for surveying the feasibility of moving an internal wall, and also a full Buildings Survey (w/ Structural). Couldn't be more pleased at the quality of work and the clarity of report. Prices very reasonable, and charged at or under quoted cost. Received extremely thorough full survey report, (including additional observations), a full 3D scan of the building, and a zoom call afterwards to discuss any items where further clarity needed. Communications could sometimes be better (when have estate agents breathing down neck), however the quality and thoroughness cannot be understated.

Julian was quick to arrange an appointment and really clear about what he could offer. Really thorough in his work, making a 3d scan of the structure of my house and explaining everything in more simple terms that I could understand, whilst providing all the more techy details and plans needed by a builder for the job in hand. Having Julian visit was by far the best decision we could have made before embarking on a renovation and would definitely recommend to anybody who needs some clarity on a project. Where others had simply stated “anything is possible”, Julian gave us properly considered advice and creative alternatives where required. He really helped us understand the limitations and scope of our project, explaining in detail the benefits/pitfalls of each idea.
