10 Replace old lime plaster wall in cottage

Second larger job I have fired Charlie for and I cannot say enough good things. The great quality of his work speaks for itself, he keeps the work area tidy and is a joy to have around the house. Job involved tearing out the lime walls that were ruined by time and previous owners in our 500y old cottage and replacing with new lime plaster. Charlie did a fantastic job communicating throughout and the new walls are a night and day difference, with a straighter and smoother finish than I thought possible, given the inherent uneveness of our centuries old brick. Charlie was very much on time and communicated excellently throughout the job. He installed several new light fixtures very neatly and identified a fault in one of my existing ones and pro actively found a suitable replacement and picked it up. Very diligent, competent and pleasant fellow who charges a very reasonable rate. Bloom Renovations was started by me, Charlie Cormack.

When I was in my mid-twenties, my parents sold our family home and bought a 'fixer-uper' to retire into.
The house hadn't been renovated in almost 50 years and required a complete overhaul. A few of my good friends were working in trades at the time and so I offered to help organise and work on the renovation.

By the end of the project I was hooked. I quit my job and enrolled on a city & guilds qualification in traditional plastering technique. I had learned that plastering was one of the trickiest and most valuable skills to learn and was eager to tackle this first.
Over the last 10 years, I have been lucky enough to learn a range of skills from friends and expert tradesman, developing confidence in a range of areas. I have a keen eye for finish and particularly enjoy technical work such a plastering, tiling and bespoke carpentry.
I would say that what sets my work apart is the service. I strive to tailor a proffesional and courteous service to all of my clients. All work includes proffesional quoting, invoicing contracts and receipts as standard.
I carry out the vast majority of physical work myself, working with the occasional subcontractor when necessary.
