    Very professional, competitive quotes

    We used Barter and Son Removals twice in the past few months. Firstly for our house move which involved packing, removals and clearance, and then a couple of months later again to remove our old sofa before our new one arrived. Throughout we were really impressed with the level of service. Stuart was really responsive. The team was quick, polite and super professional. Very reasonable quotes every time. I would highly recommend and would definitely use again myself.

    Professional, reasonable and friendly service.

    Stuart recently moved us from East Sussex to Devon and he couldn't have made it easier. He packed up our house quickly and carefully, navigated a very tricky lane which was narrow and difficult to get the vans down and moved us in at the other end. He was incredibly easy to communicate with and nothing was too much trouble or a problem. The cost was very reasonable for the distance and work involved and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone wanting a hassle free and totally professional service.

    I’m happy to provide a very positive review for Barter & Son. We used their services a number of times, & have the greatest respect for their professionalism and efficiency. They disposed of a heavy piano, & did clearance , a large-scale house removal, & carried materials for a garden room from front drive to back garden. Every time they provided a friendly, efficient, speedy service, and took the stress out of potentially stressful situations. I can’t thank them enough. I have recommended them to friends who have also been very pleased with the service they provide. Unreservedly recommended.

    Exceptional service - and brilliant and getting big things into small spaces !!!

    The Barter guys were brilliant - faced with a new sofa that was bigger than all the ways into our house they would not be beaten - somehow got it in - lovely attitude and friendly and didn’t once make me feel stupid for buying a sofa without considering the size of my doors !! Cannot recommend these guys enough and will defiantly be using them again

    Stuart, responded to my request within minutes, so I was pleased with his eagerness. The price was fair (and a lot more realistic than other quotes). Communication and flexibly of collection times and dates was positive and he managed to arrange the collection quicker than expected, due to his proactive approach. When we eventually met, he was a very likeable young man, full of enthusiasm for his work. I would definitely recommend Stuart again and I will be using him again when needed. Thank you. Vince

We are a small local removals and clearance company that has been running for 40 years.My name is Stuart Barter, and I am the 'son', it was my father’s business for 35 years and he built up a reputation for his cleanliness, punctuality, speed, customer service and his ability to take care of your items like they were his own, plus he was a piano specialist. I worked for him for the last 10 years that he had the business and learned everything I know from him, and not only did I learn how to do the job properly, I learned that the customers satisfaction is all that matters.If you are local to Worthing you may know the business as 'Peter Barter Removals' but I changed it to 'Barter & Son' when he passed the business on to me, people may wonder why I called it Barter & Son if it is only the son? There are two reasons for this; As it was my father’s business for a very long time and he built it up from scratch I wanted to keep his name alive and out of respect of what he has achieved, and also after what my father taught me over the years while I was working with him, I wanted that to live on in the business, and will still keep to the excellent standard he always gave.

We have over 15 years’ experience in handling extremely expensive items and in the last few we have moved items such as 80 Inch TVs and £10,000 paintings which have all made it to the destination safe and sound.I carry out all the jobs I quote myself, which customers find to be helpful as they are not trying to communicate with different people in the days leading up to their move.
