    Double-glazed window locks issue

    We had two faulty window locks. Once we employed A Star, ID and accreditation was sent straight through to us which set our minds at rest considering recent bad media publicity regarding locksmiths. The initial work was on the 1st window was quickly and efficiently executed, and a deeper fault on the 2nd window quickly diagnosed. This involved a 2nd visit to our property. Daniel and his apprentice were knowledgeable and courteous at all times and I would highly recommend the service A Star provide.

    Quality Service from Comms to install

    Dan was the first, and most knowledgeable, locksmith to contact me. He promptly visited and inspected the issue with my window. After a thorough examination he clearly explained what was up with the window and ways to fix it - he clearly knows what he's talking about. Unfortunately the part needed had to be ordered in which was there the following day when he returned to fix it. Communication throughout was exemplary and I would thoroughly and whole heartedly recommend Dan and team. Very honest and competitive pricing too.

    Frustrating, helpless

    Following the lock replacement, we experienced issues with the front door opening and closing properly. Prior to the visit, the door and lock were operational, although there may have been some existing alignment issues. After the new lock mechanism was installed, the door became significantly more difficult to use and, in our opinion, the work appears to have worsened the existing issue. The locksmith advised that the problem was due to door alignment rather than the lock installation itself. A refund was offered subject to return of the lock. We didn't want this locksmith to return

    As explained a door not shutting due to alignment isn't done via a lock change as the bolts in the door are not touched as they're fixed to the door via the wall. The job we did was a lock change which is on the door left side and not right side. This issue you had before we attended was evidenced and we explained to you even whilst at the job that a carpenter was needed to completed this job as we do not do these jobs. We even asked our locksmith association partner and they agreed that the door is the issue and not a lock change and they've been doing this for 25 years +
