To fit a satellite dish to chimney stack

I was quoted on the phone that fitting the satellite and connecting the cable to the box would be £65 - £75 and will take an hour. I had already removed the dish from the wall and ran the cable onto the roof, through the tiles, and to the sky box. So pretty simple job ! Mr Clarke at the end of the job refused to except cash and insisted he sent me an invoice via Email. When t I received this it was TWICE the quoted price. Mr Clarke who was here for 1 hour but tried to charge 1.5 hours kindly altered the invoice to charge for 1 hour. At no time was I told it was plus VAT and parts. Dishonest !

As a company we quote £75.00 plus Materials plus VAT which covers the first hour labour. I was on site for 90 minutes, therefore charged extra labour. When the customer raised the issue with me about the charge, I discounted the additional charge as a goodwill gesture. Being a reputable company, we collect VAT as we are VAT registered. The customer said he had called various companies about quotes, therefore maybe getting the quotes muddled. Either way £123.80 inc VAT, for the work carried out was in my opinion fair and reasonable.
