Diagnosis required pulling out the appliance which turned out to be a real struggle due to the tight fit and trapped hoses, but patience and some strength overcame the problem only to reveal the issue was caused by an extension hose that had become detached and was not actually needed anyway, but all unseen initially behind a back panel. Replaced the appliance and connected drain hose directly to S bend outlet. All done within the call out time. Job well done.
