Surgical Tile Replacement
Posted 09 March
Recently we had some work done in our house. We had some tumbled marble tiles put down in the hall (on top of a wet underfloor heating system!!!). We became aware of a tile that had been severely scratched by the builder.
James was surgeon like in his approach and despite the removal being fairly physical, he had the utmost respect for our property and minimising the mess. It is such an invisible repair and my underfloor heating system was left fully in tact.
Thanks James for a professional job!

Period property brick restoration

I recently moved into an 1860 house. It is a beautiful house but had been abused over the years. Cement used in the brickwork and plastering and modern exterior paint (causing damp).
I am a chartered engineer and know the importance of specifying the correct materials. For my recent remodel, I spent a lot of time on this. The damp is gone and house transformed. I can’t overstate the importance of using someone who has this appreciation. James is this guy. He recently surgically repaired the corner of my house (paint removal/brick repair). He knows his stuff!!!

Stone fireplace restoration

James surpassed all of my expectations — he is a true craftsman who clearly enjoys and takes pride in his work. The job turned out to be more challenging than we originally thought, but James was unfazed by this, spending the extra time required to get a superb finish. He completely transformed my fireplaces. One of them had partially collapsed, and he somehow managed to restore it to its original beauty — they are both stunning. He is polite, punctual and was a pleasure to deal with throughout the process. Just make sure you have plenty of oat milk.

James brings years of experience to the job. He is very good at working with the client to understand and achieve what they want. Almost more importantly he works with traditional materials such as lime, slate and hessian recommended for any property earlier than 1900. This trade is in short supply and very happy he is a part of it.

James is a tradesman that can be relied on to deliver a job on time and to a high quality. His communication throughout the project was excellent and he worked through atrocious weather to hit an important deadline for us. We are delighted with the outcome. I would recommend James to anyone.
