  Very much "old school" believing in a job well done, on time

  The contractor was very quick to respond with a text message. In view of the nature of the job, time was of the essence. A date/time was agreed and good communications kept me in touch with the work timelines. Subsequently the contractor requested a small change to the original date/time due to over-run of a previous job. I accepted this. He was friendly, efficient and fast. At the end, he said he was very aware of the urgency of the work, and gave me a discount on the bill because of the changes made to date/time. I would certainly recommend this contractor

  More variation in payment options could be useful

  The work was carried out efficiently and on time. I was able to see the work in progress. Payment was a little bothersome, as I didn't have on-line banking, and a bank transfer was the only option. With better communications prior to the work starting, any problems might have been averted. The original quote was in line with other quotes, but, the cost increased because of unforseen repair work.
