  Repair double glazing

  I had one window where the double glazing had blown and two where the hinge was faulty making it difficult to open and close. They came to check, quoted a very reasonable price, did the job and even made a free adjustment to my front door! There was a delay to the fitting date caused by their supplier but nothing major and I would certainly use them again.

  Removing carpets, decorating and new fittings in cloakroom

  I actually used Sam for two jobs. The second followed on from the first because I was pleased about what he had done. He's very personable and competent, in contrast to some other experiences I have had. There was a problem with a toilet roll holder that he fitted but it was probably a quality issue with the fitment as much as any shortcoming in his work and when I let him know the problem he was round in half an hour to sort it out, so I am not going to knock off any marks for that! Recommended.

  Replace outside tap

  I contacted Simon and he was upfront about his charges, which seemed very reasonable. We made an appointment for the next day and he turned up bang on time having texted earlier to say he was on the way. He seems a very pleasant guy and he did the work very efficiently. He actually charged me less than I expected because he didn't charge for the new tap. Very highly recommended.

  Fencing Repair

  Our fence went down one evening in high winds with a post snapped and the panels on either side fallen. I called Tony in the morning and he came round at the end of the afternoon and did the job the following day. I'm delighted with the way it was done and his price was less than a quarter of the amount being quoted for exactly the same work by another Checkatrader. I would certainly use this company again.

  External renovations.

  Actually two jobs of about a week each. We went onto the second because we were pleased with the first. We asked for a little extra to be done on the first job because the bits they had done looked so much better than the bits we had initially decided could be left alone. Most of the work was done by Adam who was very polite, dedicated and conscientious. I felt I had to push Alastair a little to get quotes and start dates, but I would far rather that than have someone who is pushing me. The work done seems high quality and the prices compared very favourably with other quotes we got.

  Repair to fence.

  Came round to quote the day after I called. Price seemed very reasonable so I said go ahead and he did the job the next day. He has solved the problem and re-done a poor repair that had previously been done (by someone else) at another point on the fence. I'm happy with the end result.

  He had previously forgotten us when he was supposed to be contacting us and taken a long time to set things up when we restarted the process. It was clear he was busy and might be delayed but we had given a 2-hour window and he had made no attempt to phone.
