  Replaced leaky monobloc in fireclay sink

  Contacted me quickly, gave me a price to replace tap based on photos. When he visited it turned out not to be possible to remove old tap without uninstalling the whole sink. We opted for a new sink which Dene was able to source quickly, giving me a revised quote and a date to complete the work. On the day, it was discovered that the new sink would not fit into the space left when the old sink was taken out. The space could not be sufficiently enlarged because of the surrounding structure. But now Dene could replace the tap in the old sink and refit it. This was done quickly and neatly.

  Replacing a slate roof, guttering, fascias and soffits. Repointed chimney stack.

  We were very pleased with the work done by Chris and his team. They stripped the old slates and battens and replaced with new battens, felt and slates. They did this on the main roof and also on a ground floor extension. Our chimney had the old mortar routed out and replaced. New guttering, downpipes, fascias and soffits were fitted throughout the property, as well as thicker loft insulation. They were a very polite and friendly bunch to have around the house for the three weeks it took.They tidied up at the end of each day. Chris' quote was competitive and accurate.

  Dig out and replace drain junction to clear blockage from tree roots

  Very happy with the work. The team arrived on the dot. They were very personable and hard working. They checked the issue with CCTV before they started work, showing me what the problem was. They dug out the old clay junction and replaced it with a modern plastic one, then encased it in concrete to prevent further root ingress. They offered me the option of cold-lay tarmac finish or black concrete to finish the surface. They were gone by lunch time. Price as agreed.

  Suspected airlock/venting problem with downstairs toilet

  Craig came round within 10 minutes of calling. He rodded the main drainage pipe to check for obstructions and checked that toilet was flushing correctly. He advised that a replacement valve on the soil pipe should sort the problem. For this there was no charge. I asked if he would extend the soil pipe and fit a cover. He went off to get parts and did the work straightaway. Price was as previously discussed.

  Very prompt, courteous and the work was very professionally accomplished. The price was as we agreed and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We had to dispose of the used parts ourselves. Fortunately a scrap metal dealer was passing!

  Trellis and patio laid, lawn replaced

  We were very pleased with all aspects of the work. The quote was reasonable: higher than some, lower than others and the final bill was as per quote. Dan (and his assistant, Dan) dug up our old lawn, build a patio and terrace, laid edging stones, added topsoil and re-laid the whole lawn in turf. They also replaced the crumbling mortar in our old patio and relaid some wobbly slabs. The standard of work appears to be very high: things that I would have let go Dan was determined would be 100%. They were both very pleasant guys to have around: we were quite sorry to see them go!

  Dining room, hall, stairs and landing carpets cleaned.

  Graham was very prompt and worked quietly. There were some nasty stains on the dining room carpet which he appears to have completely removed. He also cleaned our cloakroom which was not in the estimate and the work took longer than he thought, but there was no extra charge. There are now some rucks in the carpet which weren't there before and hopefully these will disappear when the carpet dries completely. We would certainly go back to Graham if we needed any more work doing.
