  Hidden charges

  Award did the routine annual service of my (almost new) unvented OSO hot water cylinder. They quoted £120 but then charged me £192, on the ground that the vessels required recharging. I was not happy about this but of course I had to pay the bill. I have recently learned that recharging the vessels is not an unusual requirement at service time, and that some companies include this within the price of the service. I will not be using Award again.

  Supply and fit new kitchen mixer tap.

  My original plan was to find a plumber to repair my old kitchen mixer tap. But once the tap was taken to bits it was obvious that it was too worn out to be worth bothering with. So Rossi shot off down the plumbers merchants and bought a replacement, which turned out to be much bigger than my original tap, which worried me a bit, but after using the new tap for a couple of weeks I've found it to be much better than the old one. So Rossi made a good choice! He was quiet, respectful of my property, did a good job for a fair price, and left everything clean and tidy. Would book him again.
