  Replacement fuse board, changing a couple of lights and fix leaking radiator

  Tom is a really nice guy, super responsive, good communicator and hard working. Responded to a checkatrade enquiry on a Sunday within the hour, took a look at an EICR report that had been prepared by another electrician. Popped in the following day to take a quick look at things to confirm what he thought needed to be done to make us compliant the following day. Got a quote over quickly and came over on the Thursday to carry out the remedial works. He is also a plumber and so came back the following week to do a couple of small jobs. Will definitely use again and recommend to others.

  Couldn't recommend for EICR

  Andy and Eddie are personable, responsive and could fit us in quickly. EICR report prepared beginning of May. Constantly changing account of issues and how to resolve. Having got another electrician in transpires that incorrect readings put on EICR report. Wrong classification of faults. Easy fix as 2 lights needed replacing as well as fuse board so that all circuits on RCD. Non invasive and not prohibitively expensive. Wasted 3 months of our life and £400.

  Supply and fit 7 triple glazed windows

  Laurie the salesman wasn't at all pushy and was happy to discuss things. Jack and Scott were friendly, fun, hard working installers. Job didn't go totally to plan due to illness, incorrect sized window, broken glazed unit and damaged capping. However we got there in the end and we are very happy with the final result. Communication to confirm that the installation was taking place as scheduled, a few days prior to installation date, would be helpful as would letting us know when remedial works were taking place. This is the only thing I would improve.

  Various central heating and shower works

  Sam came for the day and resolved long standing banging issues with CH. Involved lifting carpets and floorboards but all refitted fine. Drained CH system, cleaned expansion tank and got ballcock working again. Replaced a radiator valve and lock shield and adjusted pipework to radiator. Replaced washers to CH drainage points. Fitted an AAV. Added inhibitor and refilled CH system. Rebalanced CH system. Repaired leaking gate valve. Fitted Mira 88 shower service pack. Labelled all airing cupboard gate valves and noted where they should be opened to. Nice guy and great value for money. Very happy

  Leaking lockshield

  Charlie was recommended to me by an electrician that had just done work for me. Spoke to him on the Friday afternoon and arranged for him to come first thing Monday morning but he forgot. Came around once chased. Identified problem immediately and fixed in a few minutes. Admit that I hadn’t asked what his charges were in advance, and I am probably out of touch, but £90 for the first hour seems pricey. My big gripe is that I am paying for the hour and I had other issues with our central heating system that I wanted to discuss but body language and desire to get out of the door meant I struggled

  Replace window/upvc panel.

  Pleasure to have Mark around today. Knows what he is doing. Very tidy. Window/panel looks great. Only one other quote obtained but price reasonable in comparison. Will definitely get them to quote again in the future as more windows will need to be done.

  Drain survey

  Communications excellent as spell of bad whether meant that appointment had to be re-scheduled a few times. As a result of the weather Alan ended up doing the survey on Easter Sunday. Survey took a couple of hours and the report received in quick succession. Report was 26 pages long and very comprehensive. Responded to queries quickly. Price reasonable. Received a quote for the repairs. Seemed very expensive for a days work and materials. Thankfully home insurance covered. Cost half what Alan quoted. Needs to review pricing structure as at half it is still too much.

  PVC membrane to dormer roof.

  Charles was punctual, polite, tidy and seems to know what he is talking about. From the ground the dormer roof looks neat and tidy. Charles initially visited me 18 months ago and like other reviewers have said he deterred me from getting the work done as none of our flat roofs were leaking at the time. Price seems high for the time it takes and the materials involved but I think it is just the way of the world as Charles was reasonable in comparison to other solutions that I considered. Just have to hope that the membrane is as good as Charles says it is, only time will tell.
