10 Replacement UPVC doors and windows
Posted 12 February
Last year Grahame built our Garden Room and we had cream windows and doors fitted which looked great. Rest of the house had oak effect and we knew we would eventually replace these with more cream windows and doors. Grahame and his team made a great job of fitting these and also took the opportunity to better insulate the surrounding brickwork. Going the extra mile sums up Grahame and his team.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Door threshold drain plumbing
Posted 30 January
Shortly after we bought the house, we employed a local builder (not Grahame I hasten to add) to dig some french drains and fit a threshold drain across the front door. I thought this ran away into the nearby downpipe, but recently the wall next to the threshold appeared very wet. A bit of excavating showed that there was no connection to the downpipe. Grahame and his team fitted a t-piece to the downpipe to take an outlet from the threshold. Great work thank you.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Replacement bathroom shower
Posted 30 January
We noticed the old shower was leaking through the ceiling into the kitchen. Grahame fitted a new shower enclosure and we also chose a new pumped shower direct from our combi boiler with both a wand and monsoon outlets. Original tiling was a shambles and we went for shower boards. Awesome. Great work guys and thank you.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Repair to chimney
Posted 30 January
The top few courses of bricks in the chimney were delaminating and so whilst scaffolding was in place, Grahame and his team were able to remove the pots and reset them with new cement, replace the flaunching, build up the chimney brickwork to better support the pots and fit some ventilation bricks to an unused flue.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Facias, soffits and verges
Posted 30 January
Our facias, soffits and barge boards all matched our oak effect UPVC windows and doors and were frankly awful. We went for black to contrast with our cream windows. We now have cemented verges either end of the house and these look so much better than before. Grahame and his team did a great job. Whilst the scaffolding was up, we took the opportunity to make good some deficiencies with the existing tiles and vents and address an issue with the chimney - next reviews.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Dorma rendering and repair
Posted 30 January
Our three dorma windows were clad in wood effect upvc and when we were having our new windows put in we decided to replace the dorma cladding with coloured silicone rendering to match the new windows. Whilst Grahame and his team were doing the rendering, they also made good cementing to gable ends and fitted some guttering. Looks awesome and should not need ongoing maintenance.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Design and Build a Garden Room
Posted 20 May 2025
We had a rather tired conservatory that came with the house we bought in 2024. Grahame had a vision of taking the foundations and low brickwork and building a Garden Room suited for all seasons. This vision has now become reality and we couldn’t be more pleased. Workmanship has been first class. Grahame and his team build for you as though they were building for themselves.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 New Porch Canopy
Posted 30 April 2025
We asked Grahame to design and build us a new porch canopy for our back door. The door faces south west and the prevailing wind direction means that rain can sometimes blow in when the door is open. The porch canopy was meant to be both practical and aesthetic, and it ticks both boxes. Grahame and his team’s workmanship and interaction with us were exemplary. I can’t rate them highly enough. Many thanks.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16Chalcraft Building Services Ltd
10 Water leak beneath stone floor of our WC
Posted 17 August 2024
They were a courteous and highly efficient and capable team. They excavated and uncovered the leak, made repairs to the pipework and after drying out had taken place, made good to the flooring and walls. We also asked them to do some insulation work and some plastering around the hall and WC.Verified reviewerJob location: NR16
