  Moving a piano from the front room into the back room.

  Firstly, they did not believe me when I said the piano would not go through the door without being tipped on its end and wasted time trying. Then they found it hard to get the up ended piano onto their wheels. Once on the wheels they successfully moved. it. After they had left, I realised that the piano was very badly scratched on the end. When I commented on this via the Checkatrade messaging, they refused to reply and cancelled the job so I could not contact them again.

  They listened carefully to what I needed and thought about different ways of meeting my needs The final solution had advantages over simply replacing the existing setup. They were courteous and tidy.

  Making and fitting doors for a half height cellar

  Danny, from Wittcomb and Sons, arrived promptly as arranged by email. He built the doors on site to fit the doorways, taking account of the doorways not being square. When a slight defect was noticed in one of the doors, he immediately sourced a new piece of wood and replaced the damaged one at no extra cost.

  Although the start of the work was delayed due to bad weather, once the work was started, it proceeded quickly and as planned. The team were always courteous and tidy and the final result looks good.

  Re-render of the rear of the house

  Although the start date of the work was delayed due to an unusually wet Spring, once the work commenced it was completed promptly. In addition, the scaffolding was put up just before the start of the work and taken down immediately after. The whole team were courteous and informative and did not get in our way at all. I was given a choice of colours for the finish and could pick one that matched the colour of the rest of the house. The final result looks good with finishing details. The garden was left neat and tidy.
