  Redecorated spare room to a high standard.

  We hired Dave to completely redecorate our spare room. It needed a lot of work, old wood chip wallpaper needed stripping, the walls needed making good, and so did the ceiling. At the start he checked what sort of quality we were after. When we confirmed it was a high-quality finish that was in keeping with the house, he really responded to that and got stuck in. He was keen to advise us and give us the benefit of his experience. Dave takes pride in his work and is a perfectionist. He was trustworthy, cheerful and always turned up on time. We are already talking to him about doing more work.

  Fixing leaky tiles in our shower.

  Jerry went out of his way to fit our job in when our shower started leaking. It wasn't a big job but the fact he was honest about that and only did the necessary rather than making more work for himself really made us feel that we were dealing with a good guy who we could trust. He turned up bang on time, did the work to a very high standard, was very polite and friendly and left the place clean. What more can we say? He's great.

  Reshaping one tree, removing another, and topping a hedge.

  Climbatize were easily the most thorough and professional-looking of the companies we asked for a quote. Tree surgery can be quite dangerous so being able to present their qualifications up-front and reassure us that they were well trained and experienced really mattered to us. And when it came to doing the work they didn't disappoint. A crew of three arrived on time, set about their work, did exactly what they promised very quickly and efficiently, and left everything neat and tidy. They weren't the cheapest of those that quoted but we really did get what we paid for. Highly recommended.

  Lead pipe replacement

  Avon Water Services replaced our lead pipe as part of Severn Trent Water's replacement scheme. They were brilliant. They planned everything perfectly, worked hard and were very professional. Unfortunately, STWs planning was awful, though - three failed road closure permit applications meant waiting a year to be connected. So if they need to close the road, check in with the Council Highways Dept yourself and don't assume STW are going do it properly. Fortunately Avon's smart planning meant we never lost our supply at any point. And despite the delays we're really glad we had the work done.

  Roof repair

  Lee and his team responded very quickly when our roof started leaking, came over assessed the work and quoted the same day, then made the repair the following day. We'll have to wait for it to rain again before we're sure it's fixed, but he's assured us that, if it needs any more doing, that will be free of charge. Very friendly and efficient team, would be happy to recommend them.

  New smoke alarms fitted

  Morgan helped us out quickly and efficiently when we had an urgent problem (fitting the work into his busy schedule without any issue at all), was very polite and friendly, quoted a very fair price and stuck to it, turned up when he said he would and did a neat and tidy job in good time. I'd gladly use his services again and recommend him without hesitation.
